User Interface & User Interaction
Warning, big update ahead!
Today we completed our User Interface and the Controls.
Despite the difficulty of the game, attention was paid to a light and intuitive user interface.
Tap and hold right and Otoro runs right, tap and hold left and Otoro runs left. To hit someone or something with the wand, the player taps the touchscreen once and to cast a selected spell twice; to jump, the player swipes with his thumb up once and twice for a doublejump. In the upper status bar, the player sees his health and mana, as well as the book icon, which leads to further options such as the map, the skill tree, the inventory or the settings. As a quicklink, the player can draw various fixed signs of the bookmarks or for casting spells on the touchscreen.
Inventory and Skilltree
The inventory shows the items you collected throughout the game. Each item belongs to one of three classes. Protective, Healing or Magical item. To use an item simply drag and drop it in its corresponding symbol. If you are looking for more detailed information about an item you will find it on the right side of your spell-book. The skilltree shows the abilities that you have learned so far. Throughout the course of the game you will often have to choose between swamp or forest spells. The more abilities you acquire the more the root-structure will begin to glow. You can select your desired spell by drawing the symbol on it or by clicking on select in your spellbook.
